Donald Trump Renews Barack Obama’s Executive Order on Ukraine
President Donald Trump announced on Thursday the continuation of the national emergency concerning Ukraine amid the country’s ongoing war against Russia.
This decision maintains the measures initially established in Executive Order 13660 on March 6, 2014, under former President Barack Obama, and expanded by subsequent orders, in response to actions undermining Ukraine’s sovereignty and democratic institutions.
The notice continues for an additional year, according to a filing in the Federal Register.
The White House emphasized that these actions continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to U.S. national security and foreign policy.
This is a developing news story and will be updated as more information is available.
