A proper introduction is key to a peaceful cohabitation between two pets. According to the British pet charity Blue Cross, before physically introducing the pets, you have to get them used to each other’s smells, and you need to start this process as soon as possible.

In the early days, it is better to keep the pets separate. When introducing the pets, you should make sure that your dog has a safe space where they can go and spend time alone if needed. Their interactions must be monitored at all times until they are comfortable with each other.

“If either your cat or dog appears frightened, go back a few steps and keep them apart for a while longer. Continue scent swapping regularly and try again the next day,” their website says.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 1.9 million views and 331,800 likes on the platform.

One user, jazminmorris8, commented: “The puppy casually learning how to walk up steps to bother cat.” And Timothy said: “The puppy was like where we going.” Sarah added: “Poor Dave.”

Hussam wrote: “Later they will be laying down and cuddling.” And Anna said: “They’ll be best friends in like 5 months. Then your dog will act like a cat I know this from experience.”

Newsweek reached out to Loganspetty for comment. We could not verify the details of the case.
